Bomaderry, with a population of close to 7000 people is the gateway to the Shoalhaven and is the subject of some of the earliest land grants in the 1840s. Sitting alongside the Princes Highway on the western side, with the Shoalhaven River to the south, the town’s big driver over the years has been the railway line, connecting Bomaderry to the northern suburbs of the Shoalhaven, through to Wollongong and Sydney.
With a mix of older and newer homes, Bomaderry features a large residential subdivision to the north, with many homes in the area featuring picturesque views of Camberwarra Mountain. Parklands Estate commenced in the late 70s providing level land with mountain views and an adjoining rural scene on its edges. Some of the area’s nicer homes are located in this area.
With two shopping strips, and a commercial precinct near Meroo Street, Bomaderry is a fully serviced suburb, with its own post office, railway station, a number of specialty stores and schools.
Employment opportunities are substantial, with the state’s largest ethanol producers, Manildra Group, and Australia’s largest specialty paper producer, Shoalhaven Paper Mill, located in Bomaderry.
Restricted with growth bordering, due to flood liable land to the east and prime rural lands to the north, recent land subdivisions have seen land sell from $160,000 – $180,000. Generally, land prices start from around $150,000, units from $220,000 – $280,000 and three bedroom homes from $240,000 – $300,000.
