If you’re looking for something to do with the kids that’s entertaining and educational, then look no further than the Nowra Library. In addition to housing a vast selection of books, the library offers a range of activities for children throughout the year, such as storytelling, book clubs and school holiday activities.
Book Bites Book Club, which is designed for children aged 9 – 12, is a themed session held monthly one Wednesday from 4.00 – 5.00pm. Children have the opportunity to talk about what they’ve been reading lately and what they liked about it, as well as take part in crafts and activities.
The Bookworms Book Club is a junior version of the above, and is suited to children aged 5 – 8 years. It includes sharing and interacting with stories, with each session themed and involving activities or crafts. It’s held monthly on a Wednesday from 4.00 – 4.45pm.
Story Time is for the suited for the young ones. Held twice a month, children aged 2 – 5 are held captive by the exceptional story telling on offer. In addition to the stories, songs and craft often play a part, with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Storytime occurs every second Tuesday from 10.00am during school term.
Rhyme Time is suited for infants aged 0 – 18 months, and features music, rhyme and repetition. Held every second Thursday at 10.00am during school term.
The Nowra Library is open from 9.30am – 7.00pm weekly from Monday – Friday.
