Spring Cleaning Tips !

11 Sep 2017 Nowra 0 Comment

Spring is finally here! But is your home ready ?
Tidying up around the house and paying attention to the small details can actually make such a big difference to having a great first impression if you are thinking about selling or just want to freshen up around the house.

Here are a few tips and tricks to clean up around the home this Spring!

Unclutter everything!

It is time to finally go through all that clutter that you have been dreading to sort through all year. This may include  going through your closet and donating any clothing or shoes that you no longer wear,  filing away paper work that’s been sitting on your desk or throwing away any furniture, old toys or items that are broken or damaged.
You don’t want to have unwanted mess laying around when you start having potential buyers or guests come through, this is a good way to sort out what is junk and what you want to keep.

High pressure hosing

Pressure hosing can really help save you so much time when it comes to cleaning the exterior of your home. Hosing down any mold, dirt and stains away from the driveway or house can make such a big difference to the exterior of your home when making a great first impression and curb side appeal.
Quick Tip: Make sure you secure all doors and windows before hosing.

Clean Your Gutters

As the weather is beginning to warm up, it is a good idea to clean out your gutters of any debris and leaves that may have collected over the winter.

Mowing and a bit of gardening.

It is now the prefect season to get out there to fertilise your lawns and get rid of all those weeds.
One tip to getting rid of those weeds is to place mulch around the garden beds. Not only will it kill off the weeds but also helps keep the soil cool as the weather warms up.

Try adding few vibrant spring flowers such as tulips, primroses or daffodils this year. This can really add a pop of colour to your yard and make your home more appealing to potential buyers and your neighbours.

Cleaning your carpets

Having stains all through your carpets can be quite off putting for your guests and visitors. If you have tried every method known to man maybe its time to steam cleaning your carpets. Not only will it remove the stain and make your carpets all soft again but it will also rid of any alleges and dust mites that may be laying deep within your carpet. If you do not have a carpet cleaner, your local hard wear store will have some to hire for roughly around $25 for a 24 hour period.

Time to finish those repairs and renovations

If you are thinking about putting your home up on the market, now is the time to finish off those repairs that you never got around to or completed. Make sure if you are putting your house up on the market that your renovations are finished prior to your open viewings.
